National Trust Return to Core Business (Non-Members)

Political Correctness has no place in your organisation, as per your declared 'core values'. Everything about this debacle (and also the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt) has put me off joining your organisation and I very much wanted to. Another one bites the dust. Another tragedy.

(London, 2017-08-08)

#7

There is no need to bring a political agenda to the work of The National Trust. Additionally, all sexual immorality according to God's holy, good and just Law is shameful and therefore, there is no blessing in promoting what is contrary to nature & the created order.

(Coleraine, 2017-08-08)

#9

I am disgusted with the forced acceptance and promotion of abhorrent practices. Whatever happened to the free society that our forefathers sacrificed their lives for.

(Congleton, Cheshire., 2017-08-08)

#11

I do not believe that the NT should be promoting the ideological nonsense of the so called "gay" community which is a very tiny minority of the British population

(york, 2017-08-08)

#13

I do not believe that publicly funded organisation should be promoting these issues, they should be impartial and not biased in their views as they are in this instance

(Prestwick, 2017-08-08)

#17

this is a vile act of violent and fascist ideology and should not be allowed to force these sexual practices on ordinary people !

(LONDON, 2017-08-08)

#25

National Trust is a nationally funded organisation that should treat its staff with courtesy and its members with neutrality. Promotion of a particular cause is a breach of the Charity Commission Rules .

(Abergavenny, 2017-08-08)

#27

The National Trust should be above politics not immersed in promoting a group of people's interests that destroy the concept of heritage and generations as they are sterile.

(Swansea, 2017-08-08)

#28

This high-handed way of riding roughshod over the sensibilities of hard working volunteers who have been made to look like second class citizens and disloyal is an outrage and is a sinister development that is nothing to do with their core purpose.

(Penarh, 2017-08-08)

#32

Sex between consenting couples should be kept as a private matter between them, and certainly not made public by such a nationally recognised institution as N.T. To highlight the situation by offering badges to wear is beyond natural (British) decency.

(Child Okeford, 2017-08-08)

#35

I am absolutely disgusted by the actions of National Trust senior management and board members promoting homosexuality in such a blatant way. You should hang your heads in shame. Congratulations to the brave staff who resisted the pressure applied.

(Newtownabbey, 2017-08-08)

#36

I'm signing because the instruction to wear LGBT badges is bullying. The N T should be ashamed , via S Fry, of bullying and dismaying the family of the outed benefactor, no reason to do this after 40 years. Apparently, sexuality is 'private' so what right does somebody have to make this deceased man's private life 'public'.

We will not rejoin the N T ever again, so they lose our custom in our retirement years which amounts to several hundred pounds.

(Lincoln, 2017-08-08)

I do visit National Trust properties regularly, I was in Powis castle just last week and bought membership as a birthday gift for my son in January.
I am appalled at the NT trying to force their volunteers staff to support homosexuality (whether or not they want to).
The NT is about preserving beautiful places for future generation, not taking a stand on something so controversial.
If I had worked there, I would have refused to wear rainbow badge,
Before you judge me as homophobic, you should know my own daughter is in a gay marriage.

(BEWDLEY, 2017-08-08)

#45

I fully support this campaign and agree that the National Trust should return to its Core Business, and remember the reason why it was set up in the first place.

(devon, 2017-08-08)

#47

People should Keep sexuality private and not make a public show of it .

(Blackpool , 2017-08-08)

#48

This action could destroy the national trust.

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-08-08)

#53

As stated in the petition, I do not see why volunteers should be forcibly subjected to wear rainbow badges in support of homosexuality, when this has nothing to do with the core values of the National Trust. I was considering becoming a member, but this attitude has persuaded me otherwise.

(LONDON, 2017-08-08)

#55

We agree with much of the issues listed.

(Plymouth, 2017-08-08)

#56

Both my late parents were ardent supporters and volunteers at a National Trust Property in Hampshire. My late mother also left a substantial legacy and many valuable ivory, silver and China artefacts to the National Trust. Both my late parents were morally upright and lived exemplary lives. They would be appalled if they knew the depths to which the Trust has sunk by promoting homesexuality and spreading salacious gossip about a most generous benefactor.

(Shetland, 2017-08-08)

#57

We are heartily sick and tired of LGBT issues being forced upon us. Why can't they just live and let us live in peace with our own values.

(Gtr Manchester, 2017-08-08)

#60

Because I am fed up with people being forced to support LGBT when they know it is wrong

(Newtownabbey, 2017-08-08)

#63

This demonstrates a case of appalling politically correct bullying of its staff by the National Trust. It could be described as a policy of the promotion of perversion. Shame on you National Trust. I shall be avoiding your establishments in the future

(Aberdare, 2017-08-08)

#66

I am signing because I am opposed to homosexuality of which the Bible clearly refers to as sin; and it was this sin that brought God's judgement and destruction on Sodom. The National Trust has up to now been an organisation of which I had respect. However, if it continues to pursue these perverse policies they will loose my support and trust. May God forgive them of their evil pursuit.

(DURHAM, 2017-08-08)

#67

My son and friends joined the National Trust but would be appalled at this rudimentary assault on personal beliefs. Who are you to dictate ANY person's thinking and beliefs? Disgusted! Disgusted! Disgusted! Thrice disgusted at your temerity.

(Gunville, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight, 2017-08-08)

#69

I am a prospective member, and I'm now having second thoughts. Very angry and let down by these recent events.

(London, 2017-08-08)

#72

I am very unhappy at the spread of political correctness at the expense of common sense.

(Durham, 2017-08-08)

#73

I am angered that the NT should join the bandwagon of the homosexual Brittania season, and pandering to the 1.5% of the population who are sexually confused.

(East Croydon, 2017-08-08)

#74

I'm signing because this whole affair is repulsive to me. What has homosexuality got to do with the NT's mission of protecting the nations heritage?? You should be utterly ashamed.

(Guildford, 2017-08-08)

#80

For the reasons given on this petition.

(Houghton, 2017-08-08)

#82

The NT is a disgrace for allowing this intimidation to take place. It is typical of the totalitarian mindset of these raving militant 'liberals' who insist on diversity and tolerance, but who demonstrate the absolute opposite themselves. We cannot have a laudible cause like the National Trust being hijacked by these ideoligical fanatics. It MUST stop!!

(Norwich, 2017-08-08)

#85

I condemn corporate bullying.

(Dunfermline, 2017-08-08)

#89

Issues of sexuality and gender identity should not and need not be paraded in public by anyone. Nor should anyone be forced to align themselves to any particular pressure group or lobbying group.

(Wolverhampton, 2017-08-08)

#93

I'm signing because the Trust's action over these badges is symptomatic of the gay lobby's strategy. In years gone by it advocated tolerance, now it advocates conformity and coercion. This reflects badly on the Trust when Britain has long been regarded as a free society.

(Dorchester, 2017-08-08)

#96

I do not believe it right to force someone to do something that is against their conscience.

(Craigavon, 2017-08-08)

#100

Britain is still a free society because it is Christian and the sovereign men and women can not be bullied by the State nor by any body receiving money from the public purse claiming to have authority over the morality of the country. The National Trust has no such power or authority and must respect the free will of its members, volunteers, visitors and tax payers

(Boyle, 2017-08-08)

#103

I am sick and tired of institutions and the like dictating something against the wishes of people who are against this gay propaganda. In a real world people like the Dame hag would be birched for suggesting this imposition

(Hythe, Kent, 2017-08-08)

#109

Why should you enforce homosexual politics on your volunteers?
Stick to what the National Trust is supposed to be about. May God be your guide.

(London, 2017-08-09)

#112

I have been a member but allowed my membership to lapse because of the clear takeover of the Trust by social justice extremists. Thus latest incident is the most perfect thing Campbell of why I shall never be a member again until this madness stops. Thank you.

(Newcastle upon Tyne, 2017-08-09)

#115

I'm signing because I hate to see people being bullied.

(Harlow, 2017-08-09)

#118

My Wife & I are Bible believing Christians and God's Word is clear!

(Stockport, 2017-08-09)

#119

This nation tolerates all people and their lifestyles, which are their own responsibility. However, it is not permissible for them to force others to promote a lifestyle, which goes against God's principles and their conscience.

(Coupar Angus, 2017-08-09)

#120

I don't need agendas that are deviant to longstanding moral and cultural norms being rammed down my throat with social engineering propaganda. Stick to your business!

(Nuneaton, 2017-08-09)

#122

It is wrong to force people to go against their conscience and disobey God's principles

(Coupar Angus, 2017-08-09)

#123

The National Trust should be about preserving & protecting our national heritage and not about promoting an ideological agenda.

(Aberdeen, 2017-08-09)

#125

I'm signing because I totally object to this woman's edict. It has NOTHING to do with the NT's aims. A pompous, arrogant, domineering demand.

(Durham, 2017-08-09)

#126

As a lapsed member of the NT we have been considering rejoining but the recent action by them has caused us to think again. Like other organisations it seems the NT (of all organisation) will stoop to a new low to appease 'Big Brother LGBT'. Why not uphold decency rather than political correctness!

(Pencoed, 2017-08-09)

#128

I'm signing this because I believe in the above - namely that the National Trust should involve itself solely with its core business of protecting the nation's heritage and open spaces. It should NOT involve itself with politically correct social engineering.

(Farnham Common, 2017-08-09)

#130

as it is the non-members petition. NT should remember its charter and core values.

(Enfield, 2017-08-09)

#131

The instigators of this move pressuring National Trust volunteers to support a particular political campaign and be marginalised if they don't, are behaving like totalitarian commissars. This point has been made by many commentators forcing an about-turn. Let us hope that the lesson has been well learned.

(Cottingham, 2017-08-09)

#133

I am appalled by this bullying, intolerant attitude from the National Trust. They should not be getting involved in such issues and their behavior is disgraceful.

(Taunton, 2017-08-09)

#139

After many years membership, I am dismayed that NT is promoting perversion and damaging lifestyles. Not likely to renew subscription.

(newton Aycliffe, 2017-08-09)

#141

It is appalling that the National Trust is promoting the lifestyle of a very small minority in this country. This politically correct attitude of the National Trust is the reason we gave up our membership.

(Epsom, 2017-08-09)

#142

I'm disgusted at the abolition of freedom of choice and the belief that anyone, whether they disagree with LGBT or not, should be forced to wear a badge in support of these biogots. This is TYRANNY and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

(Cheltenham, 2017-08-09)

#146

I don't like dictatorial political correctness forcing us to do what others want. Will everyone be happy with Christian Pride marches demanding our rights and demanding that people wear "Christian Pride" badges celebrating 2000 years of Christianity. Anal sex is not Love it is a perversion.... that is why they call themselves "Queers" on their banners. I am not homophobic just truthful. I have gay relatives who I love dearly. Just don't agree with their sexual activities. LOVE? I love my male friends very much, but as a male I don't want to have sex with them!

(Redditch, 2017-08-09)

#147

None of my gay friends would support this behaviour. Live and let live no need to ram your views down others throats. These self styled politically correct Nazis need to go back under a rock from whence they came.

(Conna, 2017-08-09)

#149

I'm tired of homofascism.

(Lisburn, 2017-08-09)

#150

It is the national trust's job to protect these properties that people have given to the organisation and it is quite appalling that someone's sexual preference are aired many years later, and that an egg hunt designed to celebrate Easter has to have the word Easter dropped because of someone's hysterical notion of being politically correct

(London, 2017-08-09)

#151

I hate Political Correctness. This is a glaring example of just that.

(Stoke on Trewnt, 2017-08-09)

#152

I do not want the National Trust to promote immoral lifestyles

(Chichester, 2017-08-09)

#153

I am appalled at the behaviour of National Trust who seem to be climbing on the liberal politically correct bandwagon of promoting homosexual behaviour.

(Spilsby, 2017-08-09)

#154

I have always had the deepest respect and regard for the National Trust and while not members at present my wife and I have been members in time past.
Renewing our membership has been in our minds of late but your appalling decision regarding the homosexual issue is completely outside your remit and plunges the National Trust into the murky waters of Political Correctness.
I have to say it is now unlikely that we shall be renewing our membership.

(Capel St Mary, Ipswich, 2017-08-09)

#167

Its for individuals to have freedom of their belief - not for organizations to impose it on others

(Aylesbury, 2017-08-09)

#169

I am appalled at your condemnation of your workers not wishing to support the gay rights issue. Why do you not concern yourselves with preserving the heritage of this country. Furthermore, you should examine yourselves and in my opinion, resign from your positions in the trust.

(Neath , 2017-08-09)

#176

Where has freedom of speech and belief gone to. We should be entitled to have our own opinion and not be dictated to. We don't all have to follow the masses and be punished for it. If you don't agree with someone you should be able to agree to disagree not held up to ridicule as is happening with the National Trust. The minority love getting their own way.

(Matlock, 2017-08-09)

#178

The National Trust has no right to bully and intimidate people in this way. It is supposed to be protecting the nation's heritage, not trying to destroy the Christian values that this country was founded upon. It is increasingly apparent that this country is no longer free.

(Chichester, 2017-08-09)

#180

I absolutely agree with the views outlined here.
Our children must be protected from moral corruption by militant gays.

(Liskeard, 2017-08-09)

#181

The national trust should concentrate on what its there for, namely to keep and restore ancient buildings not promotion of homosexuality
This is going too far, we will not be going to spend our money supporting you.

(Penzance, 2017-08-09)

#182

LGBT has to be defeated

(Emsworth, 2017-08-09)

#183

The National Trust are dabbling in business which is not theirs, they should adhere to their core values!

(Blackpool, 2017-08-09)

#185

God destroyed sodom and gomora for less than whats going on in this evil world today

(Cork, 2017-08-09)

#189

There are numerous minority groups in the UK. Attempting to get staff to wear badges supporting just one of them is discriminating against all the other groups and causes. To be fair, staff would have to wear hundreds of badges for each and every minority group or they would be showing prejudice.

(Wellingborough , 2017-08-09)

#190

I am signing because I am sick to death of having this rammed down our throats

(Douglas, 2017-08-09)

#192

I've given in many ways to the National Trust but from now on it can get lost!
There are plenty of other good causes run by more worthy people.

(Sydney, 2017-08-10)

#194

I'm signing because the need for pandering to homosexuals and lesbians is not what the majority of the UK public wants. It's ridiculous that the National Trust is involved in this.

(Livingston, 2017-08-10)

#199

I agree with the petition's words.

(New Milton, 2017-08-10)
