It shouldn’t of happened it wouldn’t of happened if Jennie knew what that monster was like when she met him

I’m signing this petition because too many women are been murdered by convicted abusers.

Helen McEntee as MoJ claimed to be advocating for VAWG to be taken seriously.

She decided while in situ to not introduce any adequate mandatory sentencing. She decided to do nothing about guardians of child having control of their children even while they have killed the other parent.

Women deserve to be safe from convicted abusers.

I hoe this MoJ cares enough to do better.

Its absolutely devastating, too many women are being abused and murdered through domestic violence. Too many men are not being held accountable. Women should feel safe always. This law will help so many. More needs to be done through the government and in changing the laws of this country.

My heart goes out to Jennie and her family. I met her brother Jason briefly and didn’t know anything about his family before the awful event occurred. I left an abusive marriage around the same period of time, though I was very lucky to leave alive and this petition highlights that may not always be the case for some. Info regarding protection order details and statements to Garda from my personal experience with an abusive partner within the pulse/justice system - I would pray these would be shared with new partners/concerned family members who seek the information. This law should be passed and enacted immediately. RIP Jennie and well done Jason!

Domestic abuse or domestic violence needs to stop

(Cork, 2025-04-28)

I am signing to give people a fighting chance to get out of a potentially dangerous relationship with a previous offender. And I to stop lives being taken. Watching Jennifer’s story made me realise how the justice system really will never make up for someone’s life being taken.

I fled severe domestic abuse me and my children ran from our home with nothing scared he would kill us. We hid in a women's refuge and are still kind of hiding from him now. I'm petrified he'll kill me and the children. I'm in the process of getting him prosecuted. The world needs to know the abusers names they should never be able to do this again to anyone

I'm signing because there needs to be a register of abusers with tougher penalties and longer sentences for these abusers and there needs to be more funding put into support for victims of abuse.
