I truly hope this City Council will get its comeuppance next election. They simply stopped working for the people of Burnaby. It's all about money and special corporate interests now.

Many people on this petition commented along the lines of how it is possible that Mayor Corrigan can be such an environmental advocate when it comes to the Kinder Morgan pipeline but has no problem destroying Byrne Creek Forest East. Think twice. The City of Burnaby's ulterior motive has very little to do with the environment. Those industrial lands on the slope of Burnaby Mountain are prime lands sufficient for another 50 mid- and high-rise buildings.

Who purchased the property? The board with the sale sign came down very quickly and the usual SOLD sign didn't show up on the big board before they removed it. Did the council already have a buyer when they put up the sale sign?

Looks like Mayor Corrigan's pal of Polygon Development, Michael James Audain, bought this land. Rezoning application is being initiated. Wonder what sweetheart deal this individual got from our municipal traitor Mayor Derek Corrigan who's selling out our lands at a breadthtaking rate.
