Stephen Coles (Warrington , 2023-03-14)

Model engineering clubs need saving, young people need introduced to engineering at all levels. Model engineering teaches many practical skills and should be promoted and not left to die out. It's a brilliant hobby for all ages.

Nigel Potter (Carlisle, 2023-03-14)

#816

It's a long standing society that's supported the community for many years.

Its a part of the heritage of the area that can be preserved and maintained. It is also a great opportunity for local residents to visit or those visiting the chase. It would be a huge loss to loose something with so much potential in our area!

Im a member of a model engineering/model railway local club for 23 years and i believe that minature railways are the future for kids . Its not just "trains " the hobby teaches you alot more electronics, mecjanicd of steam and petrol mechanical, model engineering (lathes , milling machines and welding ) cad designing locomotives. is to name a few yeah its a train on top but there is alot that goes into it. These key skills could build a mind into a new proffession ie engineering car mechanics and more.

Michael Turnbull (KETTERING, 2023-03-14)

Alistair Tilley (Swadlincote , 2023-03-15)

#853

I support miniature railways

Michael Tong (Melbourne , 2023-03-16)

#854

It would be criminal to lose this for future generations, especially now that the general public can actually enjoy it for once in its life. As the author states, this should be included in the "public space" as I feel that, going forwards, it would bring a lot to a local community, especially young families and those wanting to get involved in engineering, something this country desperately needs. E.

Elliot Powick (Hereford, 2023-03-16)

#858

It is important to keep this miniature railway for future generations to enjoy and keep a part of our local history alive.

Andrew Rushton (LICHFIELD, 2023-03-17)

#859

This is the best asset left over from the former Rugeley power station, it should not be wiped away by developers, in fact it should become a listed site of interest so future generations can appreciate it

Cathryn Noble (Rugeley, 2023-03-18)

#870

The model railway is a wonderful asset to Rugeley that should be preserved. It has been there for many years and has bought enjoyment to many generations. The dedication and passion shown by the guys who run this railway is admirable, to disband what they have built up over many years would be sacrilege

Peter Kruskonjic (Cannock , 2023-03-18)

#871

I have fond childhood memories of riding begind miniature locos on Cannock Park. So many places to experience this have been lost in my lifetime.
Which is saddening as we once had a rich number of miniature loco builders and operators. In the locality. It would be a crying shame to let that heritage pass I. To memory. Then the pages of history….

Mark Ramsay (Rugeley, 2023-03-18)

#876

Andy Clarke (Nottingham , 2023-03-19)

#881

Too many clubs are closing due to housing developments, the railway can be built in to the development and design of the land, so there’s really no need for it to go.

John Cross (Camberley, 2023-03-19)

#882

I care.

Colin Noble (Rugeley, 2023-03-19)

Alan Harris (Stourport , 2023-03-21)

#896

I am also a model engine owner and realise the importance of people, both adults and children, seeing and experiencing steam at work. Surely it would also enhance the recreation area of the new estate.

Rogers Alwyn (Burnley, 2023-03-21)

#898

Not only is this a priceless addition to the new plans, it's a heritage that needs be preserved as is!

Jordy Tijssen (Schagen, 2023-03-21)

#899

The railway would be diminished in its attraction to visitors if the plans were to go ahead. I support the petition.

Andy Rodgers (Duffield, 2023-03-21)

I wish to preserve this wonderful attraction that was built over many years by dedicated enthusiasts

Rob Gibbon (Rugeley, 2023-03-22)

#925

This has been a valuable community asset for 37 years and it should continue to play a big part of any future development keep the railway as it is.

Alan Stewart (Rugeley , 2023-03-22)

#926

While development of brownfield sites such as this power station should be encouraged, existing facilities and attractions such as this railway should be maintained and form part of the new development. In this way we can move forward and service the needs of the country while retaining the heritage of an area.

Andrew Deacon (DUDLEY, 2023-03-22)

#929

The amenities on the Power Station Site should never have been sacrificed such as the bowls club, football pitches and golf course - the loss of the railway would be a further loss.

My father worked at this power station. My family have always been members of Rugeley Power Station, so needless to say, this miniature railway has always been here. My sisters and I have enjoyed this miniature railway for many years prior to the station's demolition. This should be kept as a reminder of the Power Station and all its members and workers of years gone by. This should be protected within its current location.

Edward Speed (Manchester, 2023-03-24)

#969

I’m a member of Maidstone Model Engineering Society and abhor that they are trying to move you from where you are now. You have a great track, unique, that you just can’t recreate elsewhere. You give great pleasure to the public giving rides and to others in the hobby you allow to run on your track. It would be a tragedy to be moved from where you are to somewhere totally inadequate and inappropriate by those who just don’t understand.
I visited you a few years ago and had great runs with my 3 1/2” loco Juliet called Jack. I certainly want to come back to where you are now. You have my complete support and I’m sure all at our Society support you 100% too. Wishing you the very best of luck. Sue Parham, vice chairman of MMES

Susan Parham (MAIDSTONE, 2023-03-25)

#973

My Dad, Harry Forrester was part of this railway club for many years and gave rides on the many trains he made. It would be a sin to see this go. Hope someone can see the pleasure this still gives to people and can keep it going.

Nigel Bird (Tregaron, 2023-03-26)

#979

Although not from the area I find that hosing development these days rides roughshod over anything that was previously on the site.. these developers need to be more sympathetic to what they are destroying.

Richard street (Southampton, 2023-03-26)

#981

Anthony Hackett (Cannock, 2023-03-28)

#998

My husband built this track and we are both members of this society and enjoy the social aspect and the benefits to our mental health. It should be kept as it is.

Patricia Hackett (Cannock, 2023-03-28)

#999

My uncle is a members of this railway, and it gives pleasure and mental stimulation, which people need, moving it from its current layout would destroy many years of hard work that members have put into it. Also the pond and its mass of wildlife would be lost all for the sake of houses and profits, who would want a house built on top of a pond.

Oswald Grifiths (Rugeley, 2023-03-28)

#1000

My dad is a member and I don’t want to see this track destroyed for the sake of a few houses, my dad would be upset.
