Stewartby & Kempston Hardwick Parish Council's Response to the Bedford Borough Council Local Plan 2040

Comments

The plan is ill conceived and infrasture and healthcare planning not studied. It will kill the area.

Lee Melville (Houghton Conquest, 2022-07-05)

#5

The area is already ruined and becoming a poor place to live

Nicole Eaton (Stewartby , 2022-07-14)

#6

I would like to know the plans of the area I live for 2040

Beverley Fleming (Bedford, 2022-07-14)

Slowly all the green is getting swallowed up. Today around this stunning lake I saw 2 herons, 1 egret, numerous Canadian geese, numerous moorhens, 3 cormorants and 2 muntjac. That's just what I recognised and saw in a short period of time. The wildlife needs a home and they are just getting pushed further and further away. Keep our wildlife!!!

Anita Clark (Stewartby , 2022-07-14)

This area has been the gift that keeps on giving. Enough is enough. We’ve been dumped on, endure lorries feeding the waste electricity burner in addition to our historical industry. We need a break from intense concreting over, endless disruption to water supplies and roads. Reduce the crammed plans and replace with a garden village. There’s NOTHING in this for us patient people.

Mary Lowrey (Stewartby , 2022-07-14)

#10

Should not be plans for further development until existing infrastructure has caught up and been upgraded to suit existing plans and developments. Not enough GPs, small retail stop and green spaces for the 15,000-20,000 current residents in Wixams

Matt Harris (Wixams, 2022-07-14)

#11

I object to these plans.

Zoe Nelsey (Stewartby, 2022-07-14)

#12

This is too much!! We should be preserving the countryside not building on it. The wildlife will be demolished. I moved from a huge town to my village for a better way of life, my village is now going to become a town if this goes ahead!

Kirsten Webber (Stewartby, 2022-07-14)

#19

I don’t want the disruption to our village or to reduce our green lands

Tom Clark (Stewartby , 2022-07-15)

#20

I don’t want to ruin the area I live in

Michael Nelsey (Stewartby, 2022-07-15)

#21

Impact development would have on Kempston Hardwick and Kempston Hardwick Lakes country wildlife site CWS and impact on ancient monument Kempston moat

Ian Blaney (Bedford, 2022-07-15)

#22

I’m signing because this will directly affect me as a resident of Stewartby village. The residents already face problems with local amenities and lack of health care options due to doctors surgeries being full and dentists not taking on patients because the area has already expanded so much. I also oppose this due to the amount of wildlife that will be affected and that homes are already proposed to be built on the old brickworks site expanding the village hugely by itself.

Gemma Morton-Bates (Stewartby, 2022-07-15)

This is insanely high levels of development of what is currently a countryside village. Joining villages together with all this development is just turning it all into cities! Traveller site bring problems, constant road works and disruption cause problems. It is just ridiculous.

Keeley Smyth (10 Milton Crescent, Stewartby, 2022-07-16)

#37

The local Infrastructure isn’t upto scratch now. It’ll lose the village feel.

Steve Carroll (Kempston hardwick , 2022-07-17)

#39

There are far too many houses now in this area!

Alan Purton (Bedford, 2022-07-17)

#42

I am not happy with the number of houses proposed and I am not happy with the number of gypsy and show travellers sites that are being proposed

Teena Ferguson (Stewartby, 2022-07-17)

#46

There will be no green space left!

Richard Horn (Bedford, 2022-07-17)

#47

I’m concerned about the number of new homes going up without the infrastructure to support the families already living in the area without the addition of possibly a further 12 - 16 thousand people.

Stephanie Underwood (Bedford, 2022-07-17)

I am signing 5his petition bacause I firmly believe that the Marston Vale and this Parish in particular does not need this level of housing. The local area has been subject to many such plans, all of which have been considered suitable whereas other equally suitable areas within the Borough have been 'let off' due to massive nimby pressure and because this Parish in particular was, and still is, viewed as 'brown field' space and thus of less value so suitable for exploitation.
It is time this kind if mass blanket housing is dropped until proper development with suitable and sustainable infrastructure included is offered.

David Cooper (Bedford, 2022-07-17)

#52

There are no infrastructure to support current homes let alone more. No schools no NHS no doctors.

Daniel Gregory (Houghton Conquest , 2022-07-17)

#53

There are still no plans for more schooling, shops, doctors surgeries or facilities for already an over populated area.

Shannon Bromhall (Bedford, 2022-07-17)

#54

I live in the area and the infrastructure is already poor. There's no local shops, doctors and dentists are full up and the s106 agreement has already scrapped more local amenities and schools!

Jasmine Coppin (Houghton Conquest, 2022-07-17)

#56

I understand that people need houses but the infrastructure to support these houses is not being built

Suzanne Bald (Bedgord, 2022-07-17)

#58

The local area has a complete lack of infrastructure for the houses it already has- there are no: drs, shops, chemists. Etc
Roadworks in this area would cause absolute chaos and put unbelievable stress on the already very busy retail park route.
The travellers site has been the place of many many criminal activities- local residents, counsellors and mps have called for it to be closed- how can you justify more spaces. It is already not managed properly at all by BBC which has contributed to the criminal and AS behaviour.
There are poor pedestrian links to other local villages already.

Kirsty Gadsby (Houghton Conquest , 2022-07-17)

#63

I’m signing because there is not enough infrastructure for the homes already built and already have permission to build. Guarantee schools, gp’s and shops and I have no objection

Claire Banks (Bedford, 2022-07-18)

#65

The council need to address the issues we currently have with the fixed plot for the travelling community who are constantly and consistently causing anti social behaviour to their neighbours. Further more the addition of more housing when having and effective infrastructure to existing developments hasn’t been made is extremely poor planning. Where are the public foot paths, bus services, doctors, schooling, shops etc to meet the existing community need enabling access without the need to drive 20mins to another village or town to use such services? Understand housing is required but the need to address the current issues should be the priority!

Anita Kaur (Kempston hardwick, 2022-07-18)

#67

I think this an awful idea.

Michelle Matthews (Kempston hardwick , 2022-07-18)

#68

Govt should make School hospital and other facilities along with the new housing.

Navpreet singh (BEDFORD, 2022-07-18)

#70

I’m signing because there’s NO infrastructure to support the current housing in Wixams, let alone this proposed number of extra houses. Where are they going to go to school or the doctors? Current villagers can’t get into the local schools, as the proposed schools were cancelled … FOR EXTRA HOUSES TO BE BUILT!

Tracey Flower (Bedford, 2022-07-18)

#77

I live in Stewartby which used to be a lovely place to live, now developers seem intent on destroying the area. Protecting our green spaces is more important than ever now with the climate emergency we are in now!

Sarah Woodcock (Bedford, 2022-07-19)

#84

This will put pressure on the poor services already provided to us in this county

Zia Siddique (Stewartby , 2022-07-23)

#85

I am opposed to this building plan and the impact on our already exhausted infrastructure ie hospital, roads, schools.

Julie Siddique (Stewartby , 2022-07-23)

#89

I love living in the countryside and chose to live in the countryside but really sick to death that you are destroying our countryside and lovely areas to just continually build, build and build over every green space your grubby little hands can get hold off!!! Just leave our once beutiful countryside alone and let nature have a home too!!!!

Sarah Bannan (Bedfordshire , 2022-07-24)

#92

I’m moving to the area and there is already not enough infrastructure for all these extra houses. The plans will ruin the countryside if more houses are built. There has been enough houses built over the past few years. Look for new areas to exploit.

Chantelle Spinks (Bedford, 2022-07-24)

#93

We've had enough. There are other areas that could be built upon. It's changing the rural aspect of the village and area to a fundamentally built up area. In addition, j13 of the M1 and the c94 plus a421 junctions cannot take anymore cars.

Kara Ebanks (Stewartby, Bedford, 2022-07-24)

#98

Bedfordshire is being decimated. Warehouses and houses taking up all the green space, biodiversity and adding even more congestion to am already over crowded county!! I know everyone needs to take some some of the housing and build, but we seem to be getting a disproportionate amount. We have a town which the mayor is determined to give over to charity shops and subways. All this extra housing isn't actually going to benefit anything to Bedford and the surrounding area.

Sophie Singfield (Bedford, 2022-07-24)

#99

There is already too much development in Bedfordshire, it is poor quality, ill thought out and of little benefit to the local economy.

Paul Singfield (Stewartby, 2022-07-24)

#106

There is no more places at schools Drs Dentists. We can’t keep overloading our services anymore it’s time to stop

Seren Geti (Beds, 2022-07-25)

#107

Stewartby and surrounding districts don't need any more housing, there isn't the needed infrastructure to sustain this. The roads are full of potholes and poorly repaired tarmac go build your houses somewhere else preferably near no10 downing St.

Bob Woods (Bedford, 2022-07-25)

#114

Keep it green , to much population equals to many car users not enough green
