This is absolute nonsense, unnecessary and disciminatory and wrong in every way. Why not make the boys wear skirts instead?

Hilary Tosdevin (Tiverton, 2022-06-11)

#6

Don’t be so ridiculous! Boys and girls are different, they have different strengths and we should celebrate these not try to hide them. Let’s stop alienate the majority to make a minority feel less alienated!!! This makes no sense!

Catherine Lennard (Exeter, 2022-06-11)

#7

I agree that girls should be able to wear skirts

Saskia Battams (Tiverton , 2022-06-11)

#8

It’s a ridiculous rule

Christine Harling (Tiverton , 2022-06-11)

#10

Girls should have the right to keep wearing skirts and not forced to wear trousers.

Elise Hopkins (Tiverton , 2022-06-11)

#16

Girls have a different body to boys and their gender and sexuality should be honoured and respected. I understand that some wish to be identified as non binary but that definitely shouldn't mean that all children should look the same. THS is discriminating against girls and going against their own equality policy in favour of non binary which is against the law.

Allen Jacquie (Taunton, 2022-06-12)

#17

To not allow females to wear a skirt is discrimination itself, it like saying boys shouldn’t wear trousers. Let girls be girls, boys be boys, gender neutral wear what they want

Julie Tudor (Exeter , 2022-06-12)

#18

This is all because we don't want to offend groups like LBGT, etc. etc.
Let boys be boys and girls be girls.

Stephen Green (Crediton , 2022-06-12)

#22

I presume the parents were not notified about it. If so it’s ridiculous & pathetic that the board of governors are able to totally disregard the parents viewpoint and make that decision without any consultation whatsoever. Who made you our children’s fairy godmother.

Mike Filipo (London , 2022-06-12)

I am tired of the erosion of female rights-we are moving back to the Middle Ages where women had no rights and were treated like second class citizens. Why try and make all children genderless or all look stereotypically male? A slippery slope. Will it be selected hairstyles next? Choose from 4? Communism style? Plus many girls find trousers uncomfortable and hot especially when girls have their periods. Has this not been considered by Crook?? I very much doubt it!

Claire Wilson (Tiverton , 2022-06-13)

#26

I believe both girls have a right to decide whether they wear a skirt or not . Some girls are unhappy wearing trousers . Not everyone believes in this gender neutral policy that is so in fashion these days . Women are women and men are men, & I feel they are being discriminated against. Only a few unfortunate people are born in the wrong bodies , this should not affect the rights of the rest of us .

Wendy Hill (Bradninch, 2022-06-13)

#28

A female has the right to wear a skirt, a Headteacher does not have the right to take that away

Deborah Kirk (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#30

It should be an option, which it is, not mandatory!

Moira Waldron (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#33

I believe it’s wrong to force a child to wear trousers
How can it be gender fluid when it’s taken rights away .
I have never worn trousers myself, and don’t like trousers.
I believe in respect

Amanda Meffe Meffe (Tiverton , 2022-06-13)

#36

This is a disgusting left wing social engineering abomination. Whoever came up withnthis should be sacked

Jeremy Pugh (Exeter, 2022-06-13)

#37

I am not happy with the way this has been dealt with and the way power has been taken away from parents and children in such an arrogant way.

Julie Taylor (Crediton, 2022-06-13)

#38

Absolutely ridiculous. Surely girls or women have a right to dress in skirts if they so wish? Why opt for the trousers? Why don't you perpetuate your ludicrous policy and make the boys were skirts?

Joanna Wakefield (Exeter, 2022-06-13)

#44

I’m signing because I think girls should have the option to wear a skirt or trousers

tina waller (Exeter, 2022-06-13)

#46

My daughter is a girl not boy and should be able to choose to feel comfortable in school and not made to wear trousers

Claire Whale (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#48

I’m signing because our children should have a choice !

Kimberley Wayley (Strood, 2022-06-13)

#50

I feel strongly that girls should be able to decide what they want to be wear. You are taking away their individual rights. If the school can’t manage to maintain the right length of skirt while children are at school that’s a problem that management should be managing not taking away the girls rights to wear a skirt!
I hope this new rule is upheld by female staff??
Because if not I would certainly not be following the rule with my child.

Toni Robinson (Tiverton , 2022-06-13)

#59

I'm signing because my daughter is due to start hight school in September. She is already anxious about it and feels very uncomfortable in the choice being removed about wearing skirts.

Claire Laws (Tiverton , 2022-06-13)

#61

If skirts are banned for girls there’s nothing saying boys can’t wear them?

Luke Hadley (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#67

I don’t agree with the new school policies.
I believe it’s against a girls human rights to choose to wear a skirt or trousers.

Richard Whale (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#68

This actually goes against women’s rights, denying them wearing what they feel comfortable in. It is sexist, and penalises females, or those who chose to wear skirts.

Cat Bainbridge (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#74

Every child should be allowed to choose what they feel comfortable to wear. Shame on you all as a school for not asking the children their thoughts or the parents, no wonder a lot of people out there think the school is crap!!

Tanya Newberry (Tiverton, 2022-06-13)

#80

It’s totally absurd !!
What is gender neutral ???
There are boys and girls and they should wear clothes according to there gender
Gender neutral ??? Get a grip !!!

Pam Miller (Exeter, 2022-06-14)

#82

So to be more inclusive you think you need to narrow the choice for others? Makes no sense.

James Wilson (Tiverton, 2022-06-14)

#88

I’m signing because I have a daughter with asd and she hates the feeling of trousers- leggings are ok and skirts.
This isn’t gender fluid it is breaking girls spirits and keeping them under control. This behaviour went out in the 80’s

Cheryl brown (Tiverton, 2022-06-14)

#91

If a girl wants to wear a skirt, she should have the right to do so. We are not neutral people.

Gina Hurley (Exeter, 2022-06-14)

#92

Skirts are a normal part of a girls dress code, to make a uniform gender neutral is discrimination for the girls.

Alison Smith (Bampton, 2022-06-14)

#95

I believe girls should have the choice skirt or trousers (fully support correct lengths)
Also feel parents should have been consulted, especially with cost of everything at the moment. My 2 girls have only recently had 2 new skirts each.

Beth Land (Tiverton , 2022-06-14)

#107

It’s a girl’s right to choose

Linda Larcombe (Tiverton , 2022-06-14)

#108

I think if the girls want to wear a skirt , let them. Let's have choice not diktats!

R Altaira (Exeter, 2022-06-14)

#109

Girls should be allowed to wear skirts and all uniforms except sweatshirts should be sold in supermarkets as prices are going up so much I know my grandsons uniform cost £200 we should have a day were no one wears uniform as a protest just see the school sending everyone home

Myra Lazarus (I don't live in a city, 2022-06-14)

#113

I feel just at strongly about this point! There’s should be a choice!

Priya Pandya (Ruislip , 2022-06-15)

#120

Girls have a right to wear skirts

Susannah Price (Tiverton , 2022-06-16)

#121

I’m signing because we were not consulted as parents on this matter, my daughter always adheres to uniform policy and will now feel uncomfortable wearing trousers. I also highly doubt female teachers will have to abide by this rule which is complete hypocrisy. One very unhappy girl in my home!

Aliza Patch (Tiverton, 2022-06-16)

#124

I have signed this petition as I believe that pupils should have a freedom of choice.

Danielle Sheppard (Tiverton, 2022-06-16)

#126

Allow each student to make decision for themselves. Love you are accepting and embracing gender fluidity, please allow individual to dress how they want.
Why force someone who identified as a she/her and wants to wear a skirt. Why stop them

Debbie Allan (Glasgow , 2022-06-16)

#127

It's completely disgusting. Why can't a girl be allowed to be a girl. For some children, mine included, its not just as simple as putting on a pair of trousers. I feel the school hasn't even spared a thought to children who have certain conditions and needs which effects things like this. I have another daughter starting in September and she can wear what she's told to but why on earth should she. My eldest and her two friends look so smart every morning when they go off to school and this is even more unfair on those who do wear their skirts 'properly'

Sarah Calder (Tiverton, 2022-06-16)

#130

Ridiculous policy, girls have and will continue to wear skirts

Jacqueline Airens (Glasgow , 2022-06-17)

#134

I’m signing as I think girls should carry on wearing skirts it’s stupid with just wearing trousers I think they should have a right

Gemma Parker (Tiverton, 2022-06-17)

#137

I think that the children are not been given a option on weather they want to wear trousers or not, on a day like today all children Boys and Girls are going to bake.

Sarah Saunders (Tiverton , 2022-06-17)

#138

Young people should not be forced to wear gender neutral clothing, if the issue is a few girls with short skirts , then implement something with them , not an extreme non negotiable plan for all. Let’s stand up for our God given rights before they are all stripped away !

Brigitte Stephenson (Tiverton, 2022-06-17)

#140

Girls should NOT be made to wear trousers

Emma Marie (Tiverton , 2022-06-17)

#141

This is a ridiculous policy. Girls and women have a right to wear what they choose.

Lesley Morris (Glasgow, 2022-06-17)

#155

Girls should be allowed to wear skirts.

Stacey Thomson (Tiverton, 2022-06-20)

#156

Poor decision in the 21st century just because you don’t enforce the existing dress code.

Ian Townsend (Tiverton , 2022-06-20)

#157

This is out of order forcing female pupils to not be able to identify as female

Clare Wallaace (Tiverton, 2022-06-21)

#160

The gender neutral agenda is outrageous and extremely damaging to the healthy development of our youth.

Alison Haggett (Tiverton, 2022-06-21)

#161

I strongly disagree with taking away girl’s rights to wear skirts to school

Michelle Longmire (Tiverton, 2022-06-22)

#163

My daughter starts high school next September and she is really upset about having to wear trousers. She never wears them!! I think it would make young women more self conscious than they already are’n

Alice More (Tiverton, 2022-06-23)

#166

I understand that some of the girls have not stuck to the rules about the appropriate length of the skirts. But this isn't the case for everyone. Why penalise everyone for only a few others small mistakes. By enforcing this new rule. Is taking away the rights of my daughter and other girls/women. And in the new equal world rights we are inspiring to live towards this now completely contradicts it. These children have already had their lifes drastically changed and rules enforced on them over the last 2 years to covid. So let them be kids and not add any more pressure on them!!!!

Laura Weeks (Exeter, 2022-06-26)

#168

Girls should be able to choose to wear a skirt if they want

Lorna Xavier (Tiverton, 2022-06-27)

#169

Gender neutral should mean they get to choose what they wear. Not putting them all in the same uniform and saying that’s right. Your promoting it wrong.

Gemma Auger (Devon, 2022-06-29)

#172

I think everyone should have a choice in what they wear, within reason. Not everyone is comfortable in trousers. Women’s bodies are policed far too much as it is!

Dawn Stark (Tiverton, 2022-07-08)

#173

Enforcing this policy on girls is teaching them and others that females do not have automny over their bodies. This is DANGEROUS! In a society where we are seeing an increase in attacks on females and females being made to change the way THEY are, THEY dress, THEY drink, THEY interact with males. By changing the uniform you're reinforcing that yet again the FEMALE has to change and adapt to societal changes just because as an educational setting you can't enforce the rules on a small majority. If females are constantly changing then how can we teach them to say no when it matters?
what are we telling males about their role alongside females? The future generation??? Please reconsider this uniform change. Thank you.

Laura Syree (Tiverton, 2022-07-08)

#175

I care about women’s right to be a woman and

Joy Wilson (Wareham , 2022-08-06)

#180

Freedom of choice.. Your discrimination for girl's. Girl's would like to be treated as young women & be respected. Letting other's where skirt & Not girl's?! It is outrages.

Nicola Cottrell (Tiverton , 2022-09-07)

#181

Girls are girls, it is not for any institution to force girls to wear trousers, you can't change your sex.
