The Wrestlers garage has been serving me the 25 years I’ve lived in Newport Pagnell. The building is in desperate need of repairs, let’s save this historIcal landmark of the town.

We cannot let our history be repeatedly demolished to make way for "new dwellings" soon we will have no trace of our history left. It will fall from the memory of each new generation till it is eventually lost, forever.

It is a part of the Town's history.Too many wonderful older buidings are being knocked down. When they could, and should,be restored and left alone.

Elaine O'Rourke (Newport Pagnell, 2021-08-26)

#496

I'm signing because, as the oldest dwelling in Newport Pagnell, this building (or at least the street-facing aspect) should be restored to a respectable condition. As it is, the owners have allowed it become an eyesore when other businesses and organisations in the town are trying hard to preserve and enhance it's heritage and historic features.

Garry Hammond (Newport Pagnell, 2021-08-26)

#502

I'm signing because one of the key importances of Central Newport Pagnell Town is it's hugely unique collection of important historical architecture and buildings.. pathways, parks.. and the gift of Bury field common The Wrestlers Building clearly needs help and support. I have lived in the Town now for 15 years having first spent weekends here in my youth way back in 1989 to 1992.. The community spirit and common genuine unselfish often volunteered help of the town remains pretty much the same.. remarkably and Steve the Manager of the motor vehicle repairs garage is a good example of how fair honest business help communities work together as opposed to the selfish intent of building development for self kept l profit..I believe the garage has been an asset to the area since it was first started in the 1979s.. Profit and wealth is of course earned and nobody right to say how it should spent.. however my common and genuine fondness to ensure our community and it's long running good nature spirit lives on employers me to sign this petition.. Ps :- "for the greater good" Fictional bit Brilliant Hot Fuzz Movie similarities must remain fictional and funny but be assured we aren't an occult ( excuse my humour ). stu

I’m 76 years old and was born in Tickford Street so the Wrestlers has been there all my life and my Dad Len Bennett used to drink there when it was a viable pub. Preserve it, it’s part of the history of the town. Too much has already been taken from our town and much undesirable has replaced it. Bob Bennett

Newport Pagnell needs preserving, it's history is wonderful and owners of such buildings should not be allowed to allow them to pretty much just fall down. They are custodians of a community's history as well as of just bricks and mortar
