We call Anglesey County Council to review (call in) all planning applications regarding Penrhos Nature Reserve from 2016 to present date

I Love Penrhos I think it would be criminal to disturb this area of biodiversity. There are plenty of places to build that would not create devastation to an area of outstanding beauty.Who agreed to this and what was there reasoning. The locals would not get thr work promised and deserve more than a few more bed making and cooking jobs.In Anglesey there is little investment in youth or leisure so leave our nature alone.Shame on whoever agreed to building a tacky holiday park instead of maintaining something far better.

Gwyneth Bounds (Holyhead, 2021-03-05)

#1604

This nature reserve and all it's inhabitants need to be saved for future generations.

Jean May (Wales, 2021-03-06)

#1605

Penrhos is amazing as it is - natural.
Why would you want to destroy this for the current & future generations!?

Rachael Barber (Benllech, 2021-03-06)

#1606

I'm signing because I strongly object to the development of this area, which would remove the natural habitat of our native red squirrels as well as the many birds and plants that can be seen there.

Sue Cooper (Benllech, Isle of Anglesey, 2021-03-06)

#1607

This is a beautiful area enjoyed by many.

Sian G (Warrington, 2021-03-06)

#1608

Nature before money

Geraint Hughes (Holyhead , 2021-03-06)

#1609

There is to much destruction of local workflow habitats without any regards for the communities affected, workflow and the greater environmental impact.

I would urge you to reconsider, and of your Welsh community first over money and take the lead in Wales by being a proactive Council sprouting and listening to your constituents.
Yours

Kirsty Tarbert

Kirsty Tarbert (Dolphinton, 2021-03-06)

#1610

These places should be allowed to remain places if beauty and open spaces

Julie Jackson (West Linton, 2021-03-06)

#1611

Red squirrels are an endangered species in the UK. Anglesey made an extraordinary effort to make the island a red squirrel stronghold, this just greatly reduces their habitat.

James Peat Grave (WIGTON, 2021-03-06)

#1614

Do not want Penhros spoiled by this development

Stephen Bennett (Gwernaffield, 2021-03-06)

#1616

This special site can never be restored once this development goes ahead.

Gillian Shambrook (Menai Bridge, 2021-03-06)

#1620

It is essential to preserve the unique natural environment of Anglesey for generations to come.

Susan Deebank (Edinburgh , 2021-03-06)

#1621

We need to stop mindless destruction of our countryside and wildlife habitat!

David Gresham (Fleet, 2021-03-06)

#1622

Thus is nature at its best this can't be destroyed

Petrina Owen (Bangor, 2021-03-06)

#1624

I live on the St Davids peninsula where, like Anglesey, woodland is scarse and precious. Every effort should be made to protect existing trees in Welsh coastal environments and the County Councils should be implementing that policy. The Welsh Future Generations Act is the prime piece of relevant legislation for woodland protection. Development, even "eco" development is NOT protection.

GIll Lewis (St Davids, 2021-03-06)

#1625

Want to help save the nature reserve

Land and Lakes planning application should be withdrawn due to lack of consultation with the public. The permission to discharge conditions should be brought to a halt. The continuation of missing documentation through this whole process is very concerning. The whole planning application in all forms for Kingsland/CaeGlas/Penrhos Holyhead have a duty to be ‘Called In’ and re-evaluated due to lack of information, plus lack of transparency by the Developers Land&Lakes/Bluestone and Isle of Anglesey County Council. The Reserve itself is a Tourist Attraction, which would disappear under the development. The main concerns being the development is unacceptable in terms of:
1. Transparency.

2. Missing documentation.

3. Character of our Welsh Heritage Coastline.

4. The effect of our green spaces/Amenity.

5. Effect on designated conservation areas AONB/SSSI.

6. The two sites Kingsland/Cae Glas will not be utilised. (No Wylfa N.P./Horizon Contractors)

7. The development plan has changed.

8. The policy should follow National planning policy Wales framework.

9. Over development of site.

10. Over bearing, out of scale and out of character with the nature and site.

11. A higher standard of design since original permission.

12. Impact on Landscape.

13. Highway safety.

14. Breach of Policy-Joint local development plan that has since been adopted 31 July 2017 for a 15 year period.

Janet Harding (Manchester, 2021-03-06)

#1628

We need to protect our green spaces for future generations. Not constantly develope them.

Mark Roberts (Old colwyn, 2021-03-06)

#1629

Its called a nature reserve for a reason. To build a holiday camp on it would be criminal. Another location taken from the locals to enjoy because of selfish businesses. No thoughts to wildlife and endangered animals. His area needs to be left alone. We are losing to much of our coastline to the rich as it is, please leave Penrhos alone so my children can continue to enjoy it.

Ceri Williams (Holyhead, 2021-03-06)

#1632

I've signed this because it's a peaceful and easy place to go for walks with people who have mobility issues. Penrhos is why people come to holyhead if you build hòliday homes on it they won't have a reason to come .

ellen hollingsworth (holyhead, 2021-03-06)

#1634

We have a caravan in Anglesey and visit Penrhos nature reserve many times a year I would hate to lose this wonderful location

Gillian Peet (Southport , 2021-03-06)

#1635

This is no more than a PROFITEERING exercise by the applicants with no regard to the continued well-being of the creatures that have Penrhos as their home. The Cardiff lot don't care about the north unless it means money for the cronies in the Swamp.

Stuart Davies (Llandyfrydog,, 2021-03-06)

#1636

I care about the town.

celyn jones (Anglesey , 2021-03-06)

#1639

It’s a beautiful place and should be kept that way for wildlife and heritage

Emma Wilson (Liverpool, 2021-03-06)

#1642

I'm signing because I object to your plans (however sensitive you claim they will be) to further destroy a precious wonderful valuable ecosystem. This simply can not be allowed.

Mark Hyde (Helston, 2021-03-06)

#1643

Running out of areas in Holyhead to go for a safe walk and enjoy the woodland as it's the ONLY one we have

Sonia Parry (Holyhead, 2021-03-06)

#1644

This application appears to do nothing for the local environment and local community.

Jonathan Hulson (Mold, Flintshire, 2021-03-06)

#1645

Penrhos Nature Reserve is part of an AONB. It should be saved for future generations to enjoy and learn the importance of nature. Too much on Holy Island of historical significance has been lost by decisions made that can never be undone. It is time to SAVE NOT DESTROY.

Janr Williams (Valley, 2021-03-06)

#1648

There are plenty of holiday parks already. This is in danger of setting a precedent for more developments for profit rather than the good of the environment and wildlife.

Janet Robinson (Beaumaris, 2021-03-06)

#1655

I want to protect my island and the nature on it

Jemima Soutter (Holyhead , 2021-03-06)

#1664

The nature reserve is the only beautiful thing about Holyhead as everything else is buildings. We don’t need anyone more holiday parks.

Nigel Williams (Amlwch , 2021-03-07)

#1672

We must protect special areas like this

Rosemary Jones (West Linton, 2021-03-07)

#1674

I have spent many happy days walking the dog with the family on this nature reserve with its varied habitat. It's a wonderful place.

Malcolm Bird (Lowton, 2021-03-07)

#1676

I am from the island and losing this part of Anglesey simply could never be replaced. A development can pick another spot!!

T Meakin (Blunham, 2021-03-07)

#1678

Penrhos Nature reserve should be left as it is and no development allowed.

Any planning documentation should be available for public view

Andrew Mills (Trearddur Bay, 2021-03-07)

#1679

Enough is enough, stop killing all off Mother Nature!

Karen Mcginn (Falmouth, 2021-03-07)

#1685

I’m signing because I have been going to Anglesey all my life, my Taid was High Sheriff and I have a lot of family on this special island and it would be an absolute travesty to lose this beautiful Nature Park

Judi Coffey (Perth, 2021-03-07)

#1686

I’m signing this as I walk and cycle through this nature reserve regularly, we need to keep areas like this for the wildlife

Nancy Hosegood (Bristol, 2021-03-07)

#1688

It would be dreadful to lose the beautiful nature and peacefulness of the Penrhos Nature reserve.

Sarah Johnson (Northwich, Cheshire, 2021-03-07)

#1690

Penrhos is one of the jewels in the Anglesey crown. It’s would be an obscenity to destroy it!

Barbara Thomson (Amlwch, 2021-03-07)

#1694

The policy from our Welsh political parties is to increase the acreage of Welsh forestry. To build this park will go totally against this nation's own policies as the destruction of the long established trees is a total desecration.
Why on earth would a company be allowed to cut down trees to make a "woodland wonderland" , when they could create their holiday park elsewhere and plant new trees around it.

Gaynor Renton (Holyhead, 2021-03-07)

#1698

Originally from Anglesey still return to visit my parents and often walk here it’s beautiful.

Alison Hilton (Fareham, 2021-03-07)

#1700

Nature must not be destroyed

Sara Williams (Wrexham , 2021-03-07)

#1704

I have seen what rapacious development can do to an area having lived in Florida. Development of a park like this is stealing this resource forever.

Virginia Ferrell (Charlottesville, 2021-03-07)

#1707

It cannot be destroyed

Sarah White (Chester, 2021-03-07)

#1709

I'm deeply concerned about the proposed planning on the Nature Reserve and important area of Natural habitat that is currently enjoyed by residents of Ynys Môn and visitors alike.

Kathleen Holden (Ness, 2021-03-07)

#1713

I'm signing because trees and animal habitats need to be protected, not destroyed. This won't only harm the planet further but is Completely hypocritical to the Paris agreement that the government signed in 2015

Mark Webster (Holyhead, 2021-03-07)

#1717

I'm signing because I believe now more then ever it is crucial to look after our environment. If an "eco lodge" has to destroy a vast area first then there is no way this is an eco-lodge. A nature reserve/park should be protected at all costs.

Danielle Knight (Bournemouth, 2021-03-08)

#1718

Mae wiwerod coch yn byw ym Mhenrhos a dal yn greaduriaid prin. Ddylai chwalu’r goedwig fel hyn ddim cael ei ganiatau, na gwrthod mynediad i bobl ynys Cybi ac Ynys Môn

Sian Jones (Isle of Anglesey, 2021-03-08)

#1720

Red squirrels have already been pushed to the margins. This is straightforward stupidity to damage a rare habitat.

Cherry Potts (London, 2021-03-08)

#1721

I’m signing because this area needs to be preserved one of natural beauty. And wildlife.

Charlotte Okell (Tarporley, 2021-03-08)

#1722

I am a regular visitor to Anglesey, appreciating it as an area of unspoiled beauty and home to much wildlife. Please leave this reserve alone.

Joanne Wragg (Altrincham , 2021-03-08)

#1723

I firmly believe that ancient woodland, that is the home of a protected species, and a place of peace and beauty for respectful visitors should be protected.

And - that if a plan which will decimate this ancient woodland, eliminate the species needs to go through due process.

Victoria Morgan-Smith (Walton-on-Thames, 2021-03-08)

#1727

Penrhos is an incredibly special place and one of the few wooded areas for miles around. It would be a great loss for local people as well as the incredible impact on the wildlife.

Karen Williams (Bangor, 2021-03-08)

#1734

Myself and all the other petitioners want to keep our Nature Reserve for nature, not to be demolished with no benefit to the people of Anglesey at all

Ethel Turnbull-Roberts (Gwalchmai Holyhead, 2021-03-08)

#1738

We need to preserve our green space and have places to walk through and feel the freedom

Debbie Wright (Anglesey , 2021-03-08)

#1740

I believe Penrhos Nature Reserve should be saved.I have been a frequent visitor for the past 40 odd years,it is a pleasure to go there.

SANDY Villalarde (Wallasey, 2021-03-08)

#1746

This beautiful area needs protecting for the community. There are precious few parks available that can be enjoyed by local people

Catherine Colmer (Stocksfield, 2021-03-08)

#1752

I love the diversity at Penrhos, it’s one of my favourite places on the island and I feel very sad at the thought of it not being available for future generations to enjoy.

Janice Wycherley (Nantwich, 2021-03-08)

#1754

I love the island, please don't spoil this beautiful area.
Not fair on locals and visitors

Beverley Daley (Manchester, 2021-03-08)

#1762

I do not want to see Penrhos Nature Reserve destroyed

Eleanor Ward (Holyhead , 2021-03-08)

#1769

Because its a beautiful place where people go for walks and to see all the trees and wildlife

Janice Thomas (Newborough, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, 2021-03-08)

#1775

There are plenty of other sites on Anglesey for a site like this. We have no other area like this on holy island. It’s our only site that homes red squirrels too. It’s not like this land isn’t used by tourists. 100’s of thousands come every year to enjoy. Surely it’s beneficial to the island to have this site along with a site like bluestone.

Chris Cuffin (Anglesey, 2021-03-08)

#1778

I am signing because the importance of this site must not be overlooked. Once destroyed by building on, it is lost forever. Anglesey is so special with its unspoilt coastlines please review decisions and protect this delicate environment

Catherine Kitcher (Ramsgate, 2021-03-08)

#1779

This is a time when trees should be planted, not cut down.

Helen Salthouse (Banstead, 2021-03-08)

#1781

As a nature reserve, it should be protected and not bulldozed. It is defeating the object of making it a nature reserve to just allow the land to be bulldozed for commercial greed

Elisabeth Shaw (Telford, 2021-03-08)

#1784

We MUST stop destroying our green spaces ... and protect wildlife !

Susan field (Holyhead, 2021-03-08)

#1786

I am signing this as I believe wholeheartedly preserving this beautiful place. Once destroyed cannot be replaced. Future generations will not see its beauty.

Cath Smith (Cardiff, 2021-03-08)

#1789

This woodland is in a nature reserve that supports the biodiversity that currently lives and is accessible by all. For all the climate change reasons we need to ensure that this habit stays intact. There is too much habitat destruction going on across the UK at the moment with untold consequences for the public. In this case, it's being termed as an eco lodge. As soon as you introduce large amounts of people to a habitat, you change it completely. Unless the plan is to allow people to wild camp and learn survival skills in a natural unspoilt habitat and teach respect for nature (limiting numbers where necessary), I'm against this proposal. I suspect, it's more for people with lots of money (so the land is no longer left to the general public) to come and holiday in luxury amongst the trees for a bit. Who and what does that benefit in the long run? Ah, it creates jobs? Well it may do, there are other ways to create jobs, which are more sympathetic to the nature that supports human life. This project is all about big money for the developer and owner and not about what is best in the long run and overall. Sequester carbon, reduce flooding, create biodiversity and wildlife habitat, increase human well being for all - don't cut down this habitat!

Harriet Lloyd (Bristol, 2021-03-08)

#1791

Trees are the lungs of the world xx why are we cutting them down !!!

Kay Jones (Wales, 2021-03-08)

#1792

Sick of councils destroying our nature and wildlife to build on !!!

Amanda Tudor (West Hallam, 2021-03-08)

#1793

Because I’m suffering From Depression & Going To Penrhos To Take Photos is the only thing keeping me Alive if Penrhos is Destroyed I’m not Going to Be Alive 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥

Brian Kitt (Anglesey , 2021-03-08)

#1794

We need to protect our ever dwindling wildlife. We will have nothing left!!

Irene Bollington (Newport, 2021-03-08)

#1795

I live a 10 minute walk from Penrhos and often use the area for walking. It is a beautiful and very diverse area that must be protected for the future of our children so they can also appreciate what we have.PROTECT AT ALL COSTS

Barbara Williams (Anglesey , 2021-03-08)

#1796

as a former resident (who left for work reasons), that is the only publicly accesible woodland in the whole of the north of the island. Being where it os, makes it accesible on foot to people from one of the most impoverished housing estates in Wales.

Why is the council intent on turning the island into a middle class playground at the expense of ordinary local people, and why is the council intent on ony providing yet more minimum waged, largely seasonal and mostly part-time work. It's almost as if the council wants the young of the island to leave.

Andy Williams (Goole, 2021-03-09)

#1797

Penrhos is a real treasure. Full of wildlife and enjoyed by so many people. It is loved and appreciated by residents and visitors alike who love it's beauty and diversity. Please don't let it be lost forever.

Marsha Hassall (Holyhead, 2021-03-09)

#1799

Penrhos should be saved for future generations and its destruction would lead to the loss or red squirrels which are rare in the UK.

CLAIRE SHAW (CARDIFF, 2021-03-09)
