Kate Richards (London, 2020-10-21)

#1208

Fireworks and livestock do not mix and is a danger to life

Kim Lee (Worcester, 2020-10-21)

#1212

One night of fireworks, okay, but TWO is a NO NO!

Mr.Patrick Hawkins (Westerham, 2020-10-21)

#1218

I have animals myself so know the terror that they go through.

Andrea Reeves (Notts, 2020-10-21)

#1220

This scares my dog to bits so please stop selling fireworks FULL STOP.

Stephen Gaines (Grays, 2020-10-21)

#1222

Animals are important and deserve to be treated better

André Laverty (Nottinghamshire , 2020-10-21)

#1224

animals are scared by fireworks, they don't know what they are. #Fireworks should be banned altogether as they serve no useful purpose at all.

Andrew Oakes (TELFORD, 2020-10-21)

#1228

I agree with the reasons outlined in the petition

John Seager (Basildon , 2020-10-21)

#1229

Unnecessary

Adam Brown (Coventry , 2020-10-21)

#1235

I have 8 cats and they are terrified of loud bangs and frightening noises. I have to try and calm them, I hate seeing them in this situation.

It would be safer for everyone to visit an organized firework display than lighting fireworks in their gardens.

Sandra GRIFFITHS (REDRUTH, 2020-10-21)

#1236

This is outrageous. Who is it that thinks it is acceptable? This area has many, many domesticated and wild animals in very close proximity. Suggest everyone contacts our District councillor, Peter Harris, to ask him to intervene. Details on TDC website. It can’t be allowed to go ahead.

Susan Jiggens (Weeley , 2020-10-21)

#1237

I know how frightened animals are when exposed to the noise of fireworks

Fiona Ainslie (Coventry, 2020-10-21)

#1244

This firework display will cause untold misery to animals and their owners as they see the stress that the animal suffers.
In this day and age fireworks are outdated, dangerous and stressful to animals and people.
BAN THEM ALL AT ANYTIME

Jackie Jones (Liverpool, 2020-10-21)

#1246

It’s wrong!

Kim Lane (Buckinghamshire , 2020-10-21)

#1247

I think that firework displays should be carefully planned away from built up areas where they can cause distress to pets and livestock.

Anne Warwood (Telford, 2020-10-21)

#1248

The distress caused to animals, ptsd sufferers, the elderly by the horrific noise made by these firework bombs. Keep displays away from populated areas.

Carole Sawers (Warrington , 2020-10-21)

#1250

There should be a lot more restrictions concerning fireworks because of the amount of animals that are affected by them every year

Susan Mead (Maldon , 2020-10-21)

#1254

We don't need these fireworks, the animals are more important than 30mins of entertainment

Christina Parmenter (Harwich, 2020-10-21)

#1255

Animals are terrified of fireworks- stop this torture

Jane Thompson-Ambrose (Perivale, 2020-10-21)

#1257

Fireworks cause more fear than fun

Ang Wilkinson (Norwich, 2020-10-21)

#1263

There's really no need for it! Let's consider the environment and be a little bit more conscientious rather than out for ourselves for a while; Earth needs us right now to act responsibly.

Shelley Stewart (Malvern, 2020-10-21)

#1265

Thinking of all the animals poor things we could do with out 🔥 works .😡

Shelly Cilia (Croydon, 2020-10-21)

#1267

Too many fireworks.. Is there any need to have them 2 nights in succession?

Adam Flynn (Southend, 2020-10-21)

#1268

These events should not happen near livestock or other field animals. Enough stress is caused to household pets as it is and there is no thought for animals and the harm it can cause.

Elaine Parkin (Rogate, 2020-10-21)

#1271

fireworks should be banned they cause so much pain and suffering to animals plus children that are scared of them and people with PTSD

jayne ellison (WORKSOP, 2020-10-21)

#1273

Fireworks should be strictly regulated. Most animals are terrified of them.

Sue Wood (Brighouse , 2020-10-21)

#1281

The fireworks are always being set off whatever the date. The animals are petrified they do not understand what is going on all they hear are the loud bangs.

Lynne Ellis (MIDDLESBROUGH, 2020-10-21)

#1282

Animals are severely traumatised by fireworks. My Staffie is on the verge of a heart attack when fireworks are set off, they just don’t understand what’s happening, and she isn’t alone. They are outdated, dangerous and should be banned.

Vanessa Taylor (Heacham, 2020-10-21)

#1290

There is a better place to site this display. The animals were there 1st.

Natalie Griffiths (Bristol, 2020-10-21)

#1291

I used to live in Weeley Heath and it’s a beautiful area that shouldn’t be spoiled by this event

Adrian Atkins (Preston , 2020-10-21)

#1292

There is no place for this type of thing in a civilised society if it has such an adverse effect on other species who inhabit this planet with us.

Bernard Erley (GUILDFORD, 2020-10-21)

#1293

There is too much of this going on and it shouldn't be held near animals.

Martyn Craven (Bradford, 2020-10-21)

#1294

Fireworks are not the same as in my youth, when they were more about colourful community bonfires than ludicrously loud multiple bangs - the traditions have gone out of the window. Given that fireworks can be let off at any time of year these days (weddings and birthdays, for example), they are now a serious and unpredictable nuisance. Manchester might be thought of as entirely urban, but there are still many surrounding rural areas and I completely sympathise with anyone tending to animals, whether they are pets or not. Let us have organised displays only, so everyone knows when and where to expect the noise and flashes, and we can take avoidng actions if necessary. One person's "fun" should never be at the cost of someone else's nightmare! Good luck with the campaign, Alan.

Alan Hampson (Manchester, 2020-10-21)

#1300

I'm signing because I know how distressing fireworks are for both household pets and farm animals, etc. and how this can lead to animals aborting or running away in terror and injuring themselves. The sheer volume of noise is so upsetting for people as well, especially the elderly, those with babies or young children woken from sleep and anyone who finds loud noise unacceptable or frightening.

Joan Harvey (Saltash, 2020-10-21)

#1302

I live with animals I my property and also feed strays outside. Fireworks are not only dangerous and pollutants, they terrify animals. In a time of reflection of who we are and how the environment is being destroyed by humans, firework displays are a total disregard for the hard work many others are doing to protect it.

Elaine Fogarty (Middlesex, 2020-10-21)

#1305

The safety of the animals is more important

Liam Carr (Wirral, 2020-10-21)

#1306

There is no point in a firework display at this time anyway - people should not be gathering in groups and for this reason alone it should be cancelled. Donate the money that would have been spent to a worthy cause.

Mrs S Robertson (Isle of Whithorn, 2020-10-21)

#1307

It’s time fireworks were taken out of the hands of people who misuse them and thus giving the police more powers of arrest where they are concerned .

Beverly Craggs (Newcastle , 2020-10-21)

#1311

Setting off explosions near animals and the elderly is abusive behaviour not entertainment.

Graham Robertson (Wirral, 2020-10-21)

#1315

Animal welfare is more important than human enjoyment and entertainment.
And I speak as a carnivore!!

Nicholas Rodger (Bramhall, 2020-10-21)

#1323

It's about time people became aware of the extreme distress fireworks cause to animals.

Gloria Burton (SEVENOAKS, 2020-10-21)

#1328

The ill-effects of such events should be taken into consideration when seeking suitable sites. Distress to animals and people close-by should rule it out.

Rosemary Dunstan (Penrith, 2020-10-21)

#1329

Fireworks cause untold damage to animals

Chris Vasey (Thetford, 2020-10-21)

#1333

All animals are terrified of loud fireworks, so holding a fireworks display near them is thoughtless and very cruel!

Pamela Bean (London, 2020-10-21)

#1334

Pets terrified of fireworks

David Preece (Liverpool, 2020-10-21)

#1335

Apart from local dogs it is totally irresponsible to terrify all surrounding wildlife

Julia Murdoch (Stroud, 2020-10-21)

#1337

Fireworks should be banned anywhere near animals, why would anyone want to cause such distress?

Pamela Elliott (Rugeley, 2020-10-21)

#1338

I have a dog who get stressed out by the bangs big time.

JOHN MATTHEWS (LAKENHEATH , 2020-10-21)

#1348

Livestock and fireworks just don't mix, especially the commercial display type with their terrifyingly loud bangs.

Chris Miller (Bracknell,, 2020-10-21)

#1351

This is all wrong from start to finish. I bet it isn't authorised and the police are unaware. Think of the poor animals, people etc that are terrified of loud noises.
This should be cancelled.

Joyce Goodwin (Bury St Edmunds, 2020-10-21)

#1353

I have seen the effect on animals I know

Bronwen Roberts (Penarth, 2020-10-21)

#1354

The animals need protection..

miss bacon (LONDON, 2020-10-21)

#1358

I have two dogs that have severe problems every year with fireworks.

Vincent Jacks (LONDON, 2020-10-21)

#1360

Cruel for the animals

Linnet Harvey (Plymouth, 2020-10-21)

#1365

Animals are terrified of fireworks and it causes them akot of distress. This event should not take place. It is an act of cruelty.

John Osborn (Leicester, 2020-10-21)

#1377

I feel we should move on as a society and stop "celebrating" a dated event .

Ian Baillie (Maybole, 2020-10-21)

#1380

This proposal demonstrates a deliberate lack of understanding of the concerns of others, in the chase for income.

TBR SINCLAIR (REDDITCH, 2020-10-21)

#1381

This proposed event is totally inappropriate and I hope it will be stopped, or at least relocated to a more sensible place. Although wherever it is held, it will still cause harm and upset.

Julian Ruddock (Macclesfield, 2020-10-21)

#1386

I have pets and fireworks terrify them.

Jeff Myers (Sunderland, 2020-10-21)

#1387

Fireworks are dangerous especially for the elderly the vulnerable and animals. They polute the air and scare people witless.BAN THEM

Stephen Cooke (Medway, 2020-10-21)

#1394

Fireworks this close to animals is crucially unsafe. Also, with COVID-19 restrictions in place, regarding gatherings, it’s illegal!

Lea Keeble (Braintree, 2020-10-21)

#1399

As a past resident of the area I know how many animals are kept close by.

Linda Roberts (Whitwell, 2020-10-21)
