There is no scientific evidence for this, its fear mongering and needs to stop

According to the government's own guidance, As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK.
It's also clear that the excess mortality was caused by the lockdown as the virus has been with us since autumn, yet, until the lockdown, deaths were below the 5 year average. It is UNHEARD OF for an upper respiratory tract infection to peak in April, like this one supposedly did.

Myself and family have a string off health problems between us. I have really bad anxiety, I tried a mask last week and it made me worse!

I will not kowtow and be forced to wear a face mask.

Kerry O'Leary (Sheffield, 2020-07-31)

#413

Wearing a mask does more harm than good and by making them mandatory, you are effectively implementing segregation. It should be personal choice.

Karen Phillips (Belfast, 2020-07-31)

#416

You do not have my consent to make me mask it is interference with my human rights

Jamie Cole (Bangor, 2020-08-01)

#424

I would be house bound if I had to wear one

Sharon Coey (Comber, 2020-08-01)

#426

there is absolutely no need for people to wear face masks. The cover scaremongering by the government is just to gain control over the population. There never was any pandemic.

John dwelly (Rugby , 2020-08-01)

#430

It is unproven that they help

Jonathan Ewart (Belfast, 2020-08-01)

#435

I think it’s ridiculous to announce it “saves lives” months after the danger zone. I believe the masks are a way of keeping the fear alive and making us feel “protected” until there is a vaccine available, of which I will be refusing!

Leeanne Maggan (Lisburn, 2020-08-01)

#443

I don't want to breathe in my own carbon dioxide

Andrew Richmond (Ballymena, 2020-08-01)

No peer reviewed scientific papers advocate the benefits of wearing a face covering. Sweden and the Netherlands haven’t mandated masks. Many medical experts advocate the risks to personal health outweighs the benefits of wearing a face covering.

Nicola Coyle (Margate, 2020-08-01)

I don't want anyone else making decisions for me. The science the government is working off is sketchy at best. No thanks to mandatory anything

Gerard Mullan (Limavady, 2020-08-01)

I do not feel that kids should be put under the stress and anxiety of having to wear a mask where the science does not support it

This is against our basic human rights. If it was actually effective It would have been law 4 months ago. Its about control

Joanie Callaghan (Derry, 2020-08-02)

Most masks that are admissible by government are basically useless. Provide those at most risk with N95 masks .

Paul Barr (Belfast , 2020-08-02)

Face masks are awful i
Suffer claustrophobia I just can’t wear one it’s detrimental to my health and well-being

Paula Barnes (Rushden , 2020-08-02)

I'm signing because I believe people should have a choice and this should not be mandatory. Many people cant shop as they as gasping for breath after s fee moments most people are frequently touching their faces due to discomfort then touching other items causing cross contamination, distancing is not bring observed as its s false sense of security damaged retail industry is suffering more from less footfall, many people are reclusive and frightened to go out cos cant wear faces, degrading demoralising depressin most important adding to chance of infection not diminishing it. The right to choose. The right to dignity.

Nancy Hatenboer (Ellesmere Port, 2020-08-03)

I'm signing because the rules regarding face masks is contradictory. Supermarket staff can choose not to wear a face mask, but I'm expected to as a customer. I was in Tesco a few days ago and the cashier on the till was coughing, first without covering her mouth and then coughing into her hand and all the while was handling my shopping. Yet I'm the one wearing the mask and yet I'm still at risk from coming into contact from Covid-19. There should be one rule for everyone who is in close contact with other people in enclosed spaces, or let it be my choice to wear a mask like shop staff can choose (there are others this applies to as well, for example bus drivers).

Maureen Mansfield (MARGATE, 2020-08-03)

I don’t believe face masks should be mandatory. I refuse to wear one.

Vivian McKinnon (County Down , 2020-08-03)

I think the masks cause more harm the government see its not in air so cant breath it in to not touch face yet they put something around our face to touch u should choice if u want to wear it like u chose to wear or not wear a condom

Richard Lonergan (London, 2020-08-04)

I am signing this because from the very start all the “scientist” have said facecoverings do not work and will not be made mandatory! Also I personally cannot wear one and I will not feel ashamed for not!

Jo-anne Weir (Dromore, 2020-08-04)

People should fear these masks and see them as a direct attack on us. The masks are coming to this country and taking your freedoms and your own personal choices. The ultimate aim of these dirty and sub human masks is to ruin the economy of our great nation.

My plan is for men, women and children of all ages who oppose mask-wearing to meet at Central Train Station in Belfast. Here you will be provided transport to a safe place for non-mask wearers. On your arrival at these safe camps, you will be provided with a hair cut, new clothing and for some, a very long shower.

Those of us who no not believe in mask wearing should concentrate our efforts in finding a final solution to what can only be described as an invasion of our father land.

Please sign the petition.

I believe this is virtue signalling writ large and more emphasis should be placed on hand washing and the dangers of “ in household” transmission as evidenced in Greater Manchester etc

David Murray (Larne, 2020-08-04)

#548

Wearing masks is cretinous, only for drama queens and headers.

Robert Brown (Belfast , 2020-08-04)

#556

Masks are dehumanising, demeaning, detrimental to health, lull the wearer into a false sense of security, a security issue, look odd if not intimidating outside a clinical setting and, I fear, another step towards a totalitarian state...

Catherine Helvin (St Helens, 2020-08-04)

#565

There is No Proven Evidence that " Masks" can prevent Airborne Virus Therefore the wearing should be a Personal Choice.

I have autism (aspergers) and might feel uncomfortable with a face mask.

Also we have gone 3 weeks without a death, so it seems we seem to be doing something right

There is not enough evidence to prove face masks work in fact they may be harmful.

william hilditch (Ballymoney , 2020-08-04)

#579

I'm signing because face masks should be a choice and not mandatory. On 28th April, Northern Ireland Health Minister, robin Swann, said: “One thing that would concern us is that face coverings actually lead to a false sense of security and we could see other measures with regards to good hand hygiene, social distancing start to become less prevalent”. Also, there have been incidents in The UK of robberies occurring in shops by people disguising themselves using medical face masks and this would place shop assistants in a very difficult position, particularly in a small shop where an assistant was working alone late in the evening.

Patrick McGinnity (Armagh, 2020-08-04)

#581

People will have a fear of going into shops seeing everyone with face coverings on. If it becomes law when will it ever go back to no.

David Morrow (Bangor, 2020-08-04)

I live in a free country & soon a non EU dictatorship & will not be subject to a fake IRA supporting Government who only care about their expence accounts.

Our country is supposed to be a democracy and forcing people to wear a mask for such a low risk virus is communism
