Comments

#1

It should be listed as an Asset of Community Value to preserve its role within the community.

Daniel Piner (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#6

I’m signing because I don’t want to loose another community asset.

Adrian Sprake (Bath , 2020-04-29)

#8

I live in the area and to many local pubs are closing down

Barry Ford (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#10

This pub was my local, a vibrant, viable business until it fell into the hands of people who didn't really know what they were doing.

Martyn Dormer (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#13

The area has a high number of temporary residents that has damaged the sense of community, this needs building and this space could provide the facilities to do so .

Fiona Etheridge (Bath , 2020-04-29)

#16

I grew up near The Victoria, as a child my family used it. As an adult I worked there, met my husband and spent many happy evenings socialising with the many locals.

Susan Thurston (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#20

There are already too many HMO’s in Bath.
Too many public houses have already been lost.
It needs to be kept as a community asset and used for the benefit of the local residents, preferably as a pub but if not, then in some other way.

Steve Powell (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#22

As a nearby neighbour I am in full support of keeping this as a valued community building. I see this as the best way to help to community.

Paul Rouemaine (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#27

I believe that this building should be preserved as a community asset.

Joanna Bowden (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#28

For all the reasons listed on the petition.

Jon Archer (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#31

I dont want this to be made into another hmo we dont need in our area

Emma Sprake (Bath , 2020-04-29)

#33

This building has much historical value, and so must be preserved.

Nigel Thurston (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#34

I believe we need a community hub which serves the needs of local residents.

Ana Barbosa (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#36

This pub was the hub of the immediate community. There is nothing and nowhere in this area as an alternative meeting place for the local community to socialise and bond the community together. It should be repurposed as a community hub.

Paul Harvey (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#37

It's local asset

Phill Carter (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#42

I'm signing because I believe this would be a great asset to the local community. I believe it would be possible to use the venue in a variety of ways in order to benefit the local community

Anne-Marie Stavert (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#46

I miss the Victoria Pub which we used to socialise with friends and family. My father liked to play snooker there and there is nowhere else local that he can use without having to drive. We need to keep this for the community.

Amanda Jefferies (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#47

I run a pub and I know how important they are for the local community

Nicky Marsh (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#48

I’m signing because I believe that the Vic can be a site of great community benefit. It has the space and location to be a flexible venue for a nursery, community centre, cafe etc. Once buildings like this become housing, it’s gone forever.

Jonathan Adcock (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#55

It was my grandfathers local and he raced his pigeons from there and my dad used it regularly then I used it should be a pub full stop

Tim Wall (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#58

It would be wonderful to secure this building for public use. The pub closed so quickly I am sure many locals will be very happy to see it reopen.

Amanda Watts (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#59

I live locally and don't want to see more student housing. Not because I have anything against students, I just think there are too many similar developments locally. This should ideally remain a pub, at the heart of the local community. If that cannot happen then it should be adapted to become something else of benefit to the community.

Deborah Wales (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#66

Oldfield Park is a densely populated area and losing a local asset us a real shame .

Stephanie Danns (Batj, 2020-04-29)

#71

This area is densely populated and a close-knit community. It needs to retain community assets of this kind.

John Branston (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#72

save our community pub

Lisa Stainer (bath, 2020-04-29)

#75

It’s the heart of the community, I regularly went there over 25 years and saw friends and their families grow up together, some grow Ill and all rallied to support and some sadly pass away again we mourned together and supported their families as a community- with out it there is no central safe place anymore and community is broken without it

Dunja Adams (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#76

This should remain a community asset

Emmeline Hughes (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#77

Graham Britten (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#88

We need to keep a cummunity going

Christine Randall (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#97

This beautiful building should remain an asset to the community even if it can’t remain a pub.

Bill Wilkinson (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#103

Pubs are integral part of their communities. They have evolved and many now provide a wider range of services for a wider range of the community. To many pubs have been lost due to lack of vision by management companies.

Richard Danns (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#106

The Vic should become a community hub along the lines of Southside and Rose Cottage

Trish Rolfe (Bath, 2020-04-29)

#107

I believe that the Victoria would be an excellent location for a community hub

James Docherty (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#108

The Victoria is a brilliant community resource which once lost, purely for the financial benefit of private landlords who sap from the community and contribute nothing, will never be able to be regained. It’s loss will further erode the community cohesion for old folk, youngsters and families alike. In today’s society after years of austerity such resources are more important than ever.

John Melbourne (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#110

I used to go to the Victoria and want it to be retained for community use not yet more HMOs that the area is already oversaturated with.

Simon Lock (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#115

These community places are disappearing at an alarming rate and as many as possible need to be saved to help save the community.

Julian Lacey (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#117

This is needed far more than another HMO

Marilyn Nuttall (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#118

I agree strongly that The Victoria is a valuable community asset which should be kept as such.

Heather Kale (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#119

This area needs such buildings to provide social needs and to keep the character of Oldfield Park.

Peter Cousins (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#120

I’m signing because I work nearby The Victoria and it would be great to have an after-work or lunch-time place.

Luc Horrex (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#122

It should be kept as an asset for the community.

Mary Ivey (BATH, 2020-04-30)

#127

In these trying times we need a community hub and a place to meet when restrictions are eased to talk about the situation we have endured.

Daniel Peel (Bath , 2020-04-30)

#128

I'm signing because I believe that the Vic should remain a community centre hub, serving local residents and groups as it always has done.

Rachel Lawson (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#130

I feel this is a very good cause to support, and is exactly what this community needs.

Briony Smith (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#133

I agree that the building should be utilised as a community hub for the benefit of the local residents

David B (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#136

This building is at the bottom of my road. It would be great to be able to use it to bring the community together. Let’s NOT turn it into apartments.

Alexandra George (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#138

I lived in west Avenue as a child my mum is still in west Avenue, this building I very special to the area

Lisa Cotterell (Bath , 2020-04-30)

#140

This pub was a central part of our community until it was badly mismanaged from 2016. The local community need to restablish this as a hub to be used for charities, groups, committees etc that support the young, old and vulnerable. The Current pandemic has highlighted that community connection is essential in a crisis. Let’s make sure we have the resources in Oldfield park to build on the wonderful support and social conscience that already thrives here.

Kirsten Melbourne (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#142

It's important to me that the community is supported.

Alison Paul (Bath, 2020-04-30)

#144

I strongly believe this building needs to be kept in some way to serve the community. I feel that the decline in local public houses in Bath is extremely evident and we need to update ways to support them and keep them relevant in today's society as they have so much to offer locals.

Abigail Isaac (Bath, 2020-05-01)

#147

I am signing this because we need to keep this wonderful old building in our community for our community

Winifred AWe need Stearn (BATH, 2020-05-01)

#148

I wish to see the Victoria Hotel remain a community asset and support the ACV application.

Liz Alvey (Bath, 2020-05-01)

#150

I used to live just down the road from the Vic. It's at the hub of the area and could be a tremendous community asset if reopened and repurposed.

Jane Gourley (Swindon , 2020-05-01)

#154

There must be places within communities where people can meet up & socialise bringing people together to give a feeling of belonging & pride in the area, Where various events & activities can take place without the need to travel far, resorting to using cars to get there.

Peter Clinick (Bath, 2020-05-02)

#160

My son lives nearby and he too wants the pub to to re open.

Michael Rouemaine (Bristol, 2020-05-02)

#161

We were hoping to use it on our visits to our son who lives nearby

Pamela Rouemaine (Bristol, 2020-05-02)

#163

I dont want a community asset such as the Victoria pub to be used as more HMO's when it can be used for the community.

Michael Hyden (Bath, 2020-05-02)

#168

This is an important building for the future of Oldfield Park. It could be a very safe space, for many different people, if it was developed wisely, with the residents being the priority, not the rich landlords.

Jacki French (Bath , 2020-05-03)

#169

This would be a great social space for local people. Ideas include a library, a hall for hiring for local clubs and societies, community garden...

Noemi Warren (Bath, 2020-05-03)

#173

I would rather the Victoria Pub was a multipurpose community hub, rather than student accommodation or some such.

Ben Smith (Bath, 2020-05-03)

#175

My parents in law live in the area and they are gutted about the proposal.

Carolina Grijalva-Ditte (Bath, 2020-05-03)

#177

The Victoria should remain a Community asset for local people. It will be devestating if this becomes more student flats. What about local people?

Olaf Wilde (Bath, 2020-05-03)

#185

I wish to keep this building for use by the community.

Helen Cooke (Bath, 2020-05-04)
